Brooks has announced that it acquired BioSpeciMan Corporation, a Canadian provider of storage, 7000 sq. ft. at last count, operating at between -22ºC and -80ºC with services for biological sample materials headquartered in Montréal, Canada with operations in both Montréal and Kutztown, PA. The availability of multiple sites provided valuable benefits to the company’s clients. The total cash purchase price of the acquisition was approximately US$5 million, subject to customary working capital and other adjustments.
BioSpeciMan, founded in 2002, provides temperature controlled biological sample storage services to an attractive mix of pharma, biotech and contract lab customers. The company identified a biobanking niche servicing the biopharmaceutical, biotech, and health service industry. BioSpeciMan is the latest addition to the Brooks Life Sciences service offerings, expanding customer relationships and geographic reach within its growing sample management storage services business.
